Mr.Wang Pawnshop
Mr.Wang Pawnshop is a conceptual exhibition built around the cultural symbolism of Taiwanese pawnshops, where the character 「當」represents exchange and decision-making. Hosted by ZA Share as part of its education-focused exhibition series, the project was presented in 2019 and 2020 as one of the invited exhibitions. I joined the project as the visual designer, collaborating with BellyWhite Studio on exhibition design and DateMyself, a mindfulness-writing studio, to create an experience that invited visitors to reflect on personal values and life choices. Rather than guiding visitors toward conclusions, the exhibition used the act of “pawning” as a framework for reflection. Through visual systems, spatial graphics, and narrative elements, the experience prompted audiences to revisit past decisions, question what they hold onto or let go of, and consider whether any exchange can truly alter what has already happened.

Pawning is no game; in life, no more bets.

I am willing to give up: Intelligence and Wisdom; To exchange for: Time for my father to be with our family again;
Because: My father passed away when I was three; I don't even know if…
